About Dawn Weiss Smith, LCSW

I am passionate about healing, growing, and supporting you and your family towards finding your way back.

Providing innovative and evidence-based therapy for adults, children, and adolescents with an emphasis on healing and understanding. With over 15 years of experience in the field, I have successfully used trauma-informed, strength-based approaches that integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic techniques.

What does all this clinical jargon mean for you?

It means compassionate, warm, and judgment-free guidance and support on the world’s most comfortable couch; it means mental health support tailored with you in mind.

Parenting is hard. Relationships are hard. Change is hard. Life is just really hard.

Simply surviving is not sustainable. You are here because you know this. I am here because I want to help.

I look so forward to seeing you,

Dawn

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we are all valuable; we are not our perceived failures, traumas, and disorders. With an open, non-judgmental, and empathetic space to process, bounce ideas, and heal together, we can get you back to living the life you have always wanted.

Therapy with me is…

  • There is no one client, and there is no one-size-fits-all strategy. We will work together, collaboratively in sessions that are tailored for you.

  • I provide empathy, support, guidance, and I will challenge you. Because I believe you’re worth it.

  • A large portion of my client base are in sensitive positions or with security clearances. My notes are discreet, and our sessions are highly confidential and protected.

  • Gentle, supportive guidance, in a meaningful and impactful way. Because I believe you deserve that.

Trauma, LGBTQIA, polyamory, bipolar, depression, anxiety, adolescent, teen, local, parent, marriage, conflict
